This year's event will feature Robert Bell Hot Swing Combo  (www.bellrobert.com) in the main ballroom!

Robert Bell and his crew hail from Minneapolis. They have been the featured band for four years at the Ultimate Lindy Hop Competition (Showdown) held in their home town of Minneapolis. They have traveled nationally and hey are known for playing infectious and inspiring music for Lindy Hoppers. Below is a passage from Robert Bell's website:

"Robert formed the Twin Cities Hot Club in late 2004. The group has released a self titled CD and recently the DVD Live at the Times. Robert is also a member of the traditional jazz band the Southside Aces. Robert leads the Robert Bell Erin Schwab Hot Swing Combo, and is also the bandleader for Lili's Burlesque house band and MPR Stage Sessions. Robert has performed at the Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival, the Twin Cities Winter Jazz Festival, the Doc Evans Jazz Festival , Uptown Row Django Fest and Minnesota sur Seine where he performed a concert with the great gypsy guitarist Dorado Schmitt .

Robert has also been selected to perform for many international Lindy events. Performance experience includes

The Matthew Skoller Blues Band had the Bunkeris sizzling like never before as they rocked the house during SB 11. We are bringing them back for the second straight year to give you "Dirty Blues In The Basement" the way it should be. When the band upstairs take their break, the band downstairs shall play. Never a dull moment in this house.

This is the longest running and quite possibly the largest (1 night only) event in the midwest, maybe even the nation. This event is attended by hundreds of dancers (lindy hoppers, east coasters and west coasters), music lovers and spectators both near and far as well as the young and the old!

The Swinger's Ball is not only an event. It's an emotion. Although it is an annual event, it doesn't necessarily follow the same pattern each year. While obviously similar, this classy party always seems to redifine itself yearly!
